Collin County Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Kirt & Linda Hathaway, will open the 2007 spring performance
season with the exciting "Romance & Revelry" concert beginning at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, February 17, at
the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts Hall.
Collin County Ballet Theatre has received special permission from the George Balanchine Trust to feature in this
concert his famous "Rubies" Pas de Duex. This pas de duex will be performed by guest artists Michele
Gifford and Chung Lin Tseng, formerly of Texas Ballet Theatre. "Rubies" will be a Dallas area premier
for this important master work of choreography.
The concert will open with a romantic ballet, "Songs of the Heart," set to a selection of ballades sung
by Jason Coosner, musical director of CPAC-Hathaway Ballet Academy & Performing Arts Conservatory. This
romantic ballet will be accompanied by live piano soloist and the concert will also include a new contemporary
ballet created by company resident choreographer Micki Saba, a well known choreographer in the Dallas area. She
will create a work set to the music of Renee Aubry that will also be adjudicated for the Regional Dance America
National Dance Festival held in April in Pittsburg, PA. Collin County Ballet Theatre has also invited renowned
regional choreographer Rob Davidson to create a new ballet especially for the youth ensemble titled "Tossing & Turning."
Company artistic director, Kirt Hathaway, will choreograph a new vibrant classical ballet to close the performance.
