Our next SmART Men Spotlight features Robert M. Edsel, the #1 NY Times bestselling author of The Monuments Men and Founder of the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art. Robert's book was actually the basis of the movie The Monuments Men directed by George Clooney, whom he worked closely with, and starring Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and Cate Blanchett. Robert is also the recipient of the Records of Achievement Award, an annual tribute given to an individual whose work has cultivated a broader national awareness of history and the identity of the United States. Executive Director Tammy Meinershagen will be talking to Robert about his lifelong passion for rescuing lost art, his books, his travels, his inspiration, and more. We need the arts more than ever! This SmART Men Spotlight was aired live on Facebook, Tuesday April 28th. We featured Stephen Ross, Frisco Public Art Administrator, and Suad Bejtovic of Suad Bejtovic Photography and Frisco Chamber Board member. We learned more about their background, inspiration, the Frisco public art collection, the importance of photography as "writing with light", and upcoming projects. APRIL 14, 2020: TUMBLEWEED TEXSTYLES
Our guests are the creative minds behind Tumbleweed TexStyles, founders Jeb Matulich and Brian Wysong. We learned more about how this Frisco-based company grew from an idea by 2 FISD art teachers to a successful business creating unique Texas-inspired t-shirts and products sold all over the country. The video was streamed live at Frisco Association for the Arts on Facebook on April 14, 2020.
