September 1 - October 3, 2020

You can run/walk/treadmill/bike across 5K and support the ARTS!!

#VirtualArts5K

The coronavirus pandemic has dealt a huge blow to the arts sector as a whole. Many of our arts professionals have been out of work for months, and without additional funding sources, we may see a mass exodus out of the creative industry.

For the safety of all our runners and interactive arts partners, this year's Frisco Arts Walk and Run is completely virtual, culminating with an online Finisher's Fest celebration on October 3rd, 2020 from 9am-3pm CST. The Finisher's Fest will include performances by our local musicians, dancers, vocalists, and even an online art sale by our community's visual artists. Winners from the 5K will be announced at 3PM CST and also visible on our live leaderboards.

Funds raised from the Virtual Frisco Arts Walk and Run will go towards:

  • An Emergency Relief Artists Fund

  • Arts Organization Grants

  • Youth Scholarships

Frisco Arts believes that the arts are essential to rebuild, inspire, and bring communities together. It is more important than ever to make sure that the arts stay alive, and we need your help!

5 Steps for the Virtual Arts 5K:

1) REGISTER with a friend or team!

Now that we're virtual, we no longer have to limit ourselves to just one day and one course! Our goal is 2,020 runners and walkers for the ARTS! The team with the most participants will receive a complimentary holiday piano concert by Frisco Arts' Tammy Meinershagen and other special guests.

2) GO to Frisco Running Company between Sep. 1- Oct. 3.

You’ll pick up your custom race bib, medal, and original artist postcard at Frisco Running Company, located at 9359 Legacy Dr, Frisco, TX 75033. Please have your driver's license with you. You may pick up multiple packets for your team with a copy of their driver's license. If you opt for the shipping method, you will receive your goodies in the mail instead. (Please note: Medals will be available for pickup and shipping after Sep.1st. Registrations after September 15th may experience a delay in shipping due to backorders, but we promise you will get your medal!)

3) RUN/WALK/TREADMILL/BIKE a 5K (3.1 miles) on the course of your choosing

Complete your 5K from the steps of the Louvre in Paris, through Central Park in NYC, or on our original 5K run route at HALL Park in Frisco, TX! After you run, submit your time to racechiptiming@gmail.com. For those not used to tracking their activities, Strava or MapMyRun are excellent free phone apps. In order to be considered for top prizes, submit your time and run map via a screenshot of the activity. See how you fare against other participants on our live leaderboards on October 3rd!

4) POST a photo of you in your bib, medal, crossing a homemade finish line, etc.

Make it fun! Use #VirtualArts5K for a chance to be featured on our social media channels. We want to collect pictures of arts supporters and participants from all over the country!

5) TUNE IN on October 3rd at Frisco Arts on Facebook for the Virtual Finisher's Festival featuring performances by our local musicians, dancers, instrumentalists, and more. We'll even have an art sale by our local artists! We'll announce the category winners for the 5K at 3pm CST.
